(Revised 6/1/2006)
From time to time I'll place some of the most interesting items I pick up in my scanning, reading, or conversations with clients here.
Disunity and Diversity.
Two books on two entirely different topics brought me to an unusual and "interesting" conclusion recently. Disunity, debate, and diversity of opinion are the best way to get things done successfully.
"What?!" Yes, I'm serious.
The books in question: Jared Diamond's Pulitzer Prize-winning Guns, Germs, and Steel and one of the best business books of 2005, James Surowiecki's The Wisdom of Crowds.
I'll add more shortly but I'm interested to know the first person who reads this and responds with the specific reason why those two books support my hypothesis. There's something good in it for you. Click on the "Contact Us" link at left and send us an e-mail to see if you're the first correct response.
